Yetter Introduces New 2966 Row Cleaner Model Controlled by Air Adjust™

Since Yetter Farm Equipment introduced the 2966-002 Row Cleaner for John Deere 60/90 Openers, growers have experienced effective residue management and improved emergence. Now, the 2966 is available with air-cylinder control, making it even more powerful and effective.

The key innovation on the new 2966-002A Air Adjust Row Cleaner for 60/90 Openers is the 2" x 4.5" stroke cylinder controlled by the 2940 Air Adjust In-Cab Controller, which allows growers to adjust the up and down pressure of the floating row cleaner from the tractor seat.

"This effective and versatile residue management tool helps producers get over hurdles they face during seeding, such as residue hairpinning, inconsistent seed depth and placement, and lack of seed-to-soil contact," said Yetter Territory Manager Andy Thompson.

The new model mounts to the arm of John Deere 60/90 Openers. The Air Adjust Pneumatic Controller and Compressor Kit then mounts to the air seeder to create the ideal ride for the floating row cleaner as it follows the soil terrain. Up and down pressure can be adjusted using the in-cab controller or ISOBUS screen. The unit can also be raised or lowered with the push of a button in wet areas or when the residue manager is not needed for seeding.

The single-wheel design uses the Yetter SharkTooth® wheel to move residue in front of the disc opener, allowing soil to warm up more quickly. This leads to a reduced seeding population and improved emergence.

"Moving the right amount of residue depending on the crop seeding and field conditions is important for producers using no-till and min-till systems, and so is creating the ideal seed zone for planting," said Thompson. "With the Yetter 2966-002A Air Adjust Row Cleaner, growers can do both—all from the cab."
