Yetter Farm Equipment is excited to announce its 2968 Row-Unit Mount In-Between Single and Dual Wheel Fertilizer Openers are available to fit Case IH 1200 and 2000 Series planter row units.
"Owners of these models can now leverage 2968 Fertilizer Openers to place fertilizer during planting," said Yetter Territory Manager Andy Thompson. "Installation is quickly done when the opener is mounted to the rear of the Case row unit."
2968 Fertilizer Openers are designed to achieve consistent off-the-row placement for starter, nitrogen, and other fertilizers. Growers can adjust the placement locations of 2" or 3" off the row. Both the Single and Dual Wheel models use 10" discs to place fertilizer on both sides of the row. To eliminate damp soil buildup on the planter gauge wheel, the fertilizer discs are located behind the gauge wheel. Depth can quickly be adjusted using a cordless impact or standard wrench. When the 2968 Fertilizer Opener is mounted to the rear of the planter, other attachments—like row cleaners—can be used on the front of the Case row unit.
Also new in 2019 for the 2968 Fertilizer Opener is the Spring-Loaded Knife Option. "This feature allows growers to replace the standard fertilizer injection method with a spring-loaded knife," said Thompson. "Instead of using pressure at the injection tip, customers can use a spring-loaded knife that places fertilizer into the soil."
