Open position: Quality Manager

 

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).  The Quality Manager ensures that all products meets both external and internal requirements and coordinates the activities required to meet these quality standards. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the company’s QMS conforms to customer (external), internal, ISO 9001 and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining positive customer relations and ensuring that the company is meeting customer product quality expectations and complying with all related quality functions including PPAP requirements.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction, warranty, on-site customer visits and other customer support activities.
  • Interacts with O.E.M. websites to monitor quality performance, process changes, warranty, engineering, and customer audit activity.
  • Ensures all suppliers to the company are following established quality practices including PPAPs for new piece parts and at every revision.
  • Responsible for assessing scope, coordinating containment activities and protects customers from defective material when a quality issue impacts production.
  • Participates in supplier quality audits. And records the results in Plex. 
  • Supports new product development with APQP activities and ensures process controls are adequate to meet customer quality expectations.
  • Reports to management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including improvement opportunities.
  • Manages required inspection and/or testing and positive release for incoming materials and finished product.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices/equipment used to discern quality conformance of our products and supplied parts.
  • Leads root cause analysis and corrective action on quality issues.
  • Responsible for integrating quality functions into Plex to continually improve efficiency and strength into the quality system.
  • Drives continuous improvement within all regulatory, certification and industry standards; promotes the continuous improvement philosophy throughout the factories.
  • Interface with customers on technical/quality issues and improvement initiatives; responds to customer requests and/or questions in a timely manner.
  • Remains current on standards, regulations/laws, issues and news with respect to product quality.
  • Provides leadership, mentoring and direction for all quality department personnel; conducts periodic performance reviews and provides training; issues required disciplinary actions; responsible for overall performance of quality personnel.
  • Adheres to and supports 5S 1.
  • Adheres to and supports ISO 9001: 2015 standards.
  • Performs other duties as directed or assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equal experience.
  • Previous Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO:9001 standards.
  • Knowledge of and experience with APQP procedures and techniques; PPAP, Root-Cause analysis; Lean Methodologies; Data Analysis; SPC; Continuous Improvement; FMEA;
  • Proficient knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
  • Strong knowledge of calibration and ability to read blue prints.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; for safety, performance and productivity position incumbents must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Experience in communicating with and meeting customer expectations.
  • Experience in communicating with and developing suppliers.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
