Quality Control Technician-2nd Shift

Open position: Quality Control Technician - 2nd Shift

 

Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician supports production, quality, and continuous improvement activities through inspections, problem solving, measuring techniques and collecting and reporting data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs receiving, first article, in process, and final quality inspection of product.
  • Monitors processes during the manufacturing cycle to ensure production standards are met.
  • Documents non-conforming products and executes quality protocol.
  • Provides quality support to production operations with problem solving, root cause analysis, implementation of corrective actions, promotion and initiation of continuous improvement ideas, and identifying non-compliant products and materials.
  • Reads and interprets prints or other applicable documents to determine product quality.
  • Performs dimensional inspections using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gage, and CMM.
  • Works with production team to improve and document processes. This may include creating new, or modifying existing work instructions, developing checklists and others as needed.
  • Prepares, cleans, and maintains a safe workstation/environment by complying with procedures, rules/regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Adheres to and supports 5S 1.
  • Adheres to and supports the ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous quality experience preferred.
  • Eager to learn and contribute to team driven continuous improvement objectives.
  • Ability to effectively use precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometer and CMM.
  • Ability to interpret blue prints.
  • Proficiency in general math.
  • High attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; for safety, performance and productivity must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
