Open position: 2nd Shift Leadperson - Assembly

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor in leading and coordinating production and planning, product quality, process improvements and employee safety.  Responsible for managing work within the department to achieve on-time customer delivery.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates daily assignment of work to department employees; communicates any capacity concerns with the department supervisor.
  • Assists staff in resolution of problems, provides direct instruction and training.
  • Assists the production supervisor with monitoring availability of supplies, parts and materials and communicates shortages to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Assists at a variety of workstations during peak output. Uses a variety of tools and machines, including computer, to assemble, produce, package, load or transport products or parts in accordance with established standards and guidelines; inspects parts for defects.
  • Promotes and enforces company policies and procedures. May coach, counsel or discipline employees as directed and indicated. 
  • Assists with the completion of performance reviews on department employees as directed and indicated.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by promoting and complying with safety procedures, rules/regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintains training records in Plex as directed and indicated.
  • Adheres to and supports 5S + 1.
  • Adheres to and supports the ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • For safety, performance and productivity, must be able to read, speak and write English; must have basic math and computer skills, which includes Outlook, Excel, and the ability to use and learn other software as required.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate professionally both written and verbally across all departments within the organization.
  • Ability to motivate, train, develop and supervise personnel.
  • Ability to effectively operate department related tools and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively, meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to follow directions, written and verbal, and to make decisions and follow through.
  • Ability to read blue prints and other written instructions.
  • Ability to qualify for and retain a fork lift license.
  • Ability and availability to work any shift.
