Our History of Successful Strip-Till Solutions

Yetter Farm Equipment was one of the first manufacturers to release a lineup of strip-tillage products in the 1990s. Three decades later, we continue to be an industry leader in strip-till equipment.

Introduced in 2019, our versatile Strip Freshener CC can be used in the spring or fall to freshen existing strips or create new ones while also precisely placing fertilizer. Nearly every piece of the unit can be precisely controlled from the cab, saving time and adjusting the unit for the current conditions on your operation.

What Features Make the Yetter Strip Freshener CC So Effective?

Let’s walk through each feature of the Strip Freshener CC and how it can be adjusted for ideal seedbed preparation and fertilizer application.

Rolling Basket (1, 2)

The rolling basket on the back of the unit has flat blades. Its job is to finish and firm up the strip, releasing any air pockets. The up force and downforce on the basket and the downforce on the row unit can be adjusted from the cab.

Depth Gauge Wheels (3, 9)

The gauge wheels control the depth at which you’re operating, flexing up only to the point you set. The typical depth setting range is 1½″ to 4″ deep. The depth can be adjusted in ¼″ increments using a screw assembly. This is the only component that cannot be adjusted from the cab.

The gauge wheels have an open profile, allowing soil to flow through freely and preventing buildup.

Parallel Linkage (5)

The entire Strip Freshener CC unit is set on parallel linkage for unique row-by-row performance. The parallel linkage allows each row unit to follow field contours and facilitates accurate depth control and adjustments.

Floating Row Cleaner (6)

There is a floating row cleaner with an air cylinder at the front of the unit. The cylinder allows you to adjust the up force and downforce on the row cleaner, so it can effectively clear residue out of the planting zone for a clean strip before tillage. This feature prevents hairpinning and keeps residue from being buried in your planting zone, which can lead to an inconsistent seedbed.

Liquid or Dry Fertilizer Placement (7)

You have the option to add fertilizer application equipment to the Strip Freshener CC, so you can place liquid or dry fertilizer in your new or revived strips as you run through the field.

Cutting Coulter (8)

Behind the floating row cleaner is the cutting coulter, which cuts the center line and allows the rest of the working features on the unit to operate in the zones they need to.

SharkTooth® Wheels (8)

A set of two SharkTooth Wheels make up the main working part of the row unit, performing all your tillage. The blades feature sharp, backward-sloping teeth. They’re set at a slight angle to better work the soil profile and pull in the soil slightly, keeping everything contained within the 10″ wide strips. Cleared of residue by the row cleaners, the strips can easily warm up and get dry, resulting in a more consistent seedbed for planting.

In-Cab Controller

The in-cab controller allows you to make quick adjustments to your row cleaners, row units, and rolling baskets. Up and down pressure can be controlled at the same time, resulting in better overall control and eliminating the bounce that results when only one pressure can be adjusted at a time.

The Tool You Need for Successful Strip-Tilling

Strip-tillers must be able to adapt to current field and weather conditions. The Yetter Strip Freshener CC gives you the ability to quickly fine-tune the unit right from the cab, offering just the right amount of controlled tillage for the perfect seedbed. On top of that, you can add on liquid or dry fertilizer placement equipment, saving you time on another pass through the field.

When the Strip Freshener CC has finished its run through the field, you have ideally tilled strips you can plant into right away.
