Join the Yetter Manufacturing Team!

Yetter Manufacturing is seeking experienced Welders to join our team in Macomb, Illinois. If you take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy working with your hands, and have experience with MIG welding in a manufacturing environment, we’d love to hear from you! 

What You’ll Do

  • Perform MIG and Pulse welding to fabricate assemblies that meet quality and production standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld systems, production documents, and work instructions
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding by grinding or cutting steel parts or by using chemicals, etches, and grinders
  • Operate cutting torches, grinders, measuring instruments and other related tools and equpment
  • Troubleshoot and inspect work for defects and compliance with specifications
  • Operate robotic welders and modify programs according to established procedures
  • Maintain and clean, organized, and safe work environment

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years welding experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Knowledge of welding machines; able to adjust voltage and amperage settings
  • Experience with MIG welding; Pulse welding experience preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
  • Basic math, measurement and problem solving skills
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening


Welding Classification

  • Candidates must successfully complete a written welding assessment and a hands-on weld test as part of the selection process
  • Assessment results will determine placement within one of Yetter Manufacturing’s three welder classifications based on demonstrated knowledge skills, and welding proficiency
  • Successful completion of assessments does not guarantee employment

 

Role Specifics

  • First Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, plus required overtime as scheduled
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to machinery, noise, welding fumes, vibration, varying seasonal temperatures, and other typical factory conditions
  • Physically active position requiring standing and walking for the majority of the shift, repetitive work, and regular lifting of up to 50 pounds
