A
new 20-inch 25 multi-wave blade is now available from Yetter Manufacturing
Company, rounding out the industry’s largest selection of coulter
blades.
“No
two farming operations are exactly alike and we want to offer
coulter blades that come the closest to matching the customer’s
needs,” said Yetter Product Development spokesperson Don Bunnell.
Differing
soil types and residue conditions require the proper coulter blade
match. Coulter blade applications can be customized from the selection
offered by Yetter Manufacturing Company to fit the needs of individual
farming operations.
The 25
multi-wave coulter blade, in combination with seeding openers,
creates an ideal seed environment by first cutting any residue
that is present, then providing very fine tilth for seed trench
closing. This makes the 25 multi-wave blade the best coulter selection
for tight soil conditions that are hard for closing wheels to
close.
The 25
multi-waves formed into the outer diameter of the blade are what
do the work. Each blade is sensitive to ground speed and soil
depth. More aggressive soil disruption occurs at faster ground
speeds and deeper depth of operation.
Used on
coulters ahead of fertilizer shanks, the 25 multi-wave blade saves
time and money. As the blade digs in to cut crop residue, a wide
slot is opened for the fertilizer shank, improving residue flow
around the shank while reducing implement draft.
In addition
to this new offering, several other coulter blades are available
to choose from. To help in the coulter blade selection process
a comprehensive
chart is available from Yetter Manufacturing detailing features,
uses, soil conditions, and end results for each blade type.
Bunnell
went on to say, “Our goal is to help customers remove the guesswork
in their coulter blade selection. The right blade selection can
mean the difference between success and failure.” This chart is
