The
Yetter Coulter Cart, a mainstay of farming across North America,
has been strengthened to maximize performance in a variety of field
conditions and applications.
The
coulter cart is a toolbar which carries coulters, residue movers
and other tillage tools between the tractor and the openers on drills
or planters. The drill or planter attaches to the back of the unit
and is raised or lowered using the cart's hydraulic system. Studies
have shown that this is optimum placement of coulters for soil preparation.
The
main benefit of the Yetter Coulter Cart is the transfer of weight
from the tractor which adds needed down-pressure to coulters, allowing
for maximum downpressure and coulter penetration. The downpressure
is adjustable "on-the-go" as field conditions vary.
To make
this a real workhorse, the tubular steel mainframe of the 6300 Series
Coulter Cart has been increased in thickness by 50%. In addition,
steel braces have been added to strengthen the toolbar, and support
gussets have been added to vertical lift towers.
"We
realize that our customers are pushing their equipment to work harder
each year," said Gene Chenoweth, Director of Yetter's Research and
Development Department. "These changes in the coulter cart will
allow farmers to carry the heavier drills and planters with ease
and confidence. The stronger steel will help ease the stress placed
on the cart in extremely tough residue and field conditions, too."
The
Yetter Coulter Cart has been used by farmers for more than a decade
to upgrade conventional drills and planters for conservation tillage
use. It's compatible with any Category II or IIIN 3-point hitch.
The
Yetter Coulter Cart is available in 15', 20' and 30' models. The
Yetter base Coulter Cart (without coulters) is part number 6300-001.
