Job Summary:

Performs general production and set-up duties assigned by production supervisor to facilitate efficient production on various press machines that may include loading, bending, shaping or cutting steel or metal according to job specifications. Maintains quality and safety standards. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets-up and operates various press machines according to established specifications.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints.
  • Verifies settings and makes required adjustments.
  • Maintains specifications by observing, measuring, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, and adjusting machines as indicated.
  • Communicates with team members and management, participating in problem-solving and providing feedback/recommendations.
  • Prepares, cleans, and maintains a safe workstation/environment by complying with procedures, rules/regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Adheres to and supports 5S 1.
  • Adheres to and supports the ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations and follow work instructions at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
  • High attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Capacity to do repetitive work and stand for long periods of time.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn software.
  • Ability to follow directions, written and verbal, and to make decisions and follow through.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment applicable to the manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read blue prints and other written instructions.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Physically active position requiring consistent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Essential duties and responsibilities are typically performed while standing or while intermittently sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching or stooping; requires reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Repetitive motions may be applicable to certain products.
  • Visual acuity and hand/eye coordination.
  • Regular exposure to noise and vibration from pneumatic tools, moving machines, fumes, and occasionally airborne dust and particles.
  • Exposed to seasonal temperature changes.
  • Requires steel/composite safety footwear and safety eye protection at all times.
