| Yetter
has unveiled a new 2960 Double-Arm Coulter for planter
row units to add to its array of productivity-boosting
tools. According to Yetter design engineer Lonnie Lucas,
the twin-arm design ensures that the heavy-duty hub assembly
stays centered in front of the double disc opener.
“In
no-till, you need a strong, reliable coulter assembly
to optimize the seed-to-soil contact that translates into
vigorous root growth and uniform emergence,” says
Lucas. “This new twin-armed 2960 is just that.”
Lucas
adds that the unique design features unique of the 2960
Double-Arm Coulter enhance field performance and versatility.
A universal mounting bracket that adapts to most popular
planters includes 8 holes, set at 3/8” increments,
to permit precise coulter depth adjustments. This adjustment
system also allows mounting close to the front of the
planter unit, making it easier to integrate residue managers
and other tools.
According
to Lucas, the 2960 Double-Arm, like all Yetter coulters,
features a heavy-duty gusseted hub that that has proven
itself over the past 30 years on farms all over North
America. The hub centers on a 1¼ ” spindle
with greaseable tapered roller bearings.
To
best match their specific tillage practices, soil types
and soil conditions, producers can choose from a wide
variety of coulter blades. “The right blade will
prepare the soil at the same time the seed is planted
and lessen sidewall compaction while loosening the soil
for enhanced seed trench closing,” says Lucas. “And
because you make fewer passes with coulter tillage, you
use less fuel, reduce planting costs, plant more acres
in less time and get a quicker return on your investment.”
Established
in 1930 and based in Colchester, Illinois, Yetter Manufacturing
Company is the industry leader in planter attachments
that boost productivity and profitability. Yetter makes
a variety of coulters, residue managers, precision fertilizer
placement products, markers and bulk seed handling devices.
