New QuikAdjust for Yetter Residue Managers

Yetter announces its new QuikAdjust for Residue Managers, which makes setting and changing the depth of residue managers almost effortless.

Instead of crawling under each row unit on the planter to pull a pin to make the depth adjustment, the QuikAdjust allows the operator to stand alongside the planter and simply pull the spring-loaded handle that extends above the planter row unit's parallel linkage. A lever then is used to raise or lower the residue wheels to the proper height and the handle is released into the corresponding hole.

Holes are set at 3/16" increments for precision height adjustment. Quick, consistent depth adjustment for each row is not only possible, but easy. When even faster adjustments are required, the QuikAdjust's double-time adjusting speed adapts to the situation.

"Over the course of a season, this innovation can cut planting time by hours," says Susan Wherley, Advertising Manager for Yetter. "And time is money."

"Proper depth adjustment in critical for successful residue management," Wherley adds. "If the residue manager is set too low, it will move soil to the middle of the row, which discourages precise seed placement and creates a trench in which a heavy rain can wash everything away. If it's set too high, it won't move the residue, and wicking and hairpinning can result."

The new QuikAdjust makes the critical process of setting and changing the depth on Yetter residue managers almost effortless. Instead of crawling under each row unit on the planter to make the change, the operator simply pulls a spring-loaded handle, uses a lever to raise or lower the wheels, and releases the handle into the corresponding hole. Holes are set at 3/16" increments for precision height adjustment. When even faster adjustments are required, the QuikAdjust's double-time adjusting speed adapts to the situation. According to Yetter, the QuikAdjust can, over the course of a season, save hours of planting time.
